The Strategies for the Building of Mental Image Flash in Translation Cognition
Keywords:
Translation process, Mental image flash, Building strategyAbstract
MIF(Mental image flash) is the decoded image in one's brain corresponding to the activation of a word. In English language comprehension, a great number of Chinese English learners have to interpret the meaning with the help of Chinese, and can not decode directly from English language. In translation practice, they convert words from one language to another language without the appearance of MIF. The author put forward the strategies for the building of MIF from lexical level to syntactical level, and then to pragmatic level; reexamined the previous translation theories; put forward the deficiency and improvement for the previous theories; and made some attempts on the building of translation theories.
